About Julie Paquette
LCSW, CADC & Tele-Counseling
Qualifications
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides high quality mental health counseling with compassion, understanding, and validation for the individuals I serve in the community. My goal is to pass my skills and knowledge on to you so you don't need me anymore. I don't believe most kids need therapy (unless there is severe trauma), so I present myself as a teacher, coach or counselor. I tell my young clients that I'm a teacher of "what it is to be a human being".
I teach parents and children how to manage difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I teach parents how to help their children regulate their feelings, which in turn helps manage challenging behaviors.
I work primarily with parents and children, but my work with individual adults is just as important to me. I focus on reducing unnecessary suffering by learning how to explore your thoughts and feelings so you can overcome life obstacles, while respecting your soul's journey. It's a spiritual practice that is focused on increasing self awareness and changing the beliefs and behaviors that support suffering.
My main goal is to make sure that the people I serve have the best treatment available to support the highest possible outcomes. I am a Trauma Informed Therapist who specializes in treating children with Anxiety, PTSD, Depression, Trauma, ADHD, Bipolar, Behavioral issues and other diagnoses. I have extensive training in addiction and work with people struggling with Substance Abuse Disorders and Co-occurring Disorders. The interventions I use are empirically supported to be effective and client centered. Continuing education is also extremely important to me, as it supports professional growth and development.
